Alaska Wildlife Safari and Bear Viewing

Fly-In Bear Camp, Whitewater Raft, Sea Kayak, Wildlife Cruise, Hike, and More in America’s Last Frontier
With a small group of 12 women, this Alaska Bear Viewing and Wildlife Safari allows you to travel in Alaska where most don’t venture. An Alaska vacation to rival none, this adventure in America’s “last great place” is a wildlife aficionado’s and photographer’s dream trip.

Your playground is Alaska's National Parks: the Kenai Peninsula and Kenai Fjords National Park and Wildlife Refuge, and hundreds of square miles of bountiful Alaskan wilderness areas. You’ll discover endless expanses of rolling forests, mountain meadows, hidden lakes, whispering streams, turquoise glaciers — all of it teeming with rare species of North American wildlife.

Fly by bush plane to a spectacular Alaska Bear Camp for bear viewing of Grizzlies and cubs in their natural habitat. Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Anchorage
Arrive in Anchorage, Alaska and transfer to your hotel. Meet your guide, then dinner on your own and early evening trip orientation and group introductions.

Days 2-3: Scenic Drive to Seward, a Cruise, and Transfer to Seacoast Adventure Camp
Drive from Anchorage to Seward, a beautiful drive through awesome scenery. Board a large cruise boat and take a magnificent guided wildlife cruise through Resurrection Bay. See whales, puffins, sea lions, seals, otters, sea birds, and “calving” glaciers. Then transfer to the spectacular Seacoast Adventure Camp in Resurrection Bay where you enjoy a gourmet dinner followed by an evening paddle in sea kayaks. Stay in comfortable two-person tents on the shores of Resurrection Bay. Spend two glorious days of energetic sea kayaking, where you work on paddling skills while watching for Stellar Sea Lions, otters, harbor seals, humpback whales, and over 100 species of birds in what is best described as “Yosemite in Alaska”.

Day 4: Bush Plane to Bear Camp
Drive over beautiful mountain passes to the Adventure Lodge. Following lunch, board bush planes for a scenic flight to Bear Camp, chosen as “Best Bush Camp” by Outside Magazine. Spend a stunning afternoon watching sows and cubs in their natural habitat. Dine on local seafood and retire to Quonset-hut-like structures under the “midnight sun”.

Day 5: From Bear Camp to Adventure Lodge
Photograph Grizzlies from viewing stations before your late afternoon bush plane flight and return to the luxurious Adventure Lodge, located on the Kenai Peninsula at the confluence of the Kenai and Moose Rivers. Enjoy fine dining beneath the Kenai and Chugach Mountains before retiring to beautiful riverside cabins.

Day 6: Whitewater Rafting
Whitewater raft with expert guides down the scenic Kenai River through the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. After a walk along a beautiful glacial lake, return to the Adventure Lodge for Happy Hour on the deck and another night of fine dining.

Day 7: Discover Homer and Kachemak Bay
Travel to the charming and scenic “End of the Road” town of Homer and Kachemak Bay, a truly unforgettable and fun-filled day of exploration and scenic wonders. Return to the Adventure Lodge for another fine dinner and your last evening together, surrounded by Alaska’s stunning wilderness.

Day 8: Explore the Splendor Around the Adventure Lodge - Return to Anchorage
In the morning, embark upon your choice of hikes in local wildlife areas, or choose a morning fishing charter. Depart the Adventure Lodge and fly from Kenai back to Anchorage, arriving at approximately 4:30pm. You may choose to depart Anchorage this evening or stay another night on your own.
