The Dalmatian Coast and World Heritage Sites This Croatia walking holiday and hiking trip combines visits to two World Heritage Sites and the picturesque beauty of the Dalmatian Coast. Enjoy a holiday vacation in Croatia while walking to get in shape, and learn the fascinating history of Dubrovnik, Mjlet, Korcula, Hvar, and Split.
More than 1,000 islands make up the archipelago of Croatia along the beautiful Dalmatian Coast, one of Western Europe’s best kept secrets. You walk ancient Croatian hiking trails through fishing villages, lush forests, and market towns. Travel by boat to some of the less well-known islands and towns in Croatia, one of which claims Marco Polo as its own! From Renaissance architecture and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, you immerse yourselves in this unique European culture that has evolved from Venetian and Roman heritage.
AdventureWomen’s Croatia hiking trip begins in the walled city of Dubrovnik, Croatia, known as “the Pearl of the Adriatic” on the Dalmatian Coast. This celebrated town is much visited, truly magnificent, and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From here you hop on boats and ferries to embark on your exploration of Croatia’s Dalmatian islands, jewels in the Croatian crown. Your first stop is the wild, beautiful, and relatively unknown island paradise of Mljet, a third of which is a designated Croatian National Park. It has two salt water lakes and its own 12th-century Benedictine monastery. Your next port of call is green and verdant Korcula, with its marvelous Renaissance town where residents claim Marco Polo as one of their own. The cosmopolitan island of Hvar is your final destination, boasting beautiful beaches and fragrant fields of lavender.
The history, architecture, natural wonders, diverse landscapes, and marvelous Croatian cuisine on this Croatia walking holiday make this the ideal “moderate” AdventureWomen European hiking trip.

Rich in art and culture, explore numerous tiny and secluded beaches and bays, small and uninhabited islands, and breathtaking views. Take a guided walk of the old town of Korcula, a typical medieval walled Dalmatian city, with its round defensive towers and cluster of red-roofed houses. It is a harmonious mix of Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Meet in the late afternoon for a wonderful wine tasting and dinner at a local vineyard.
